My hiatus is, sadly, not quite over yet, but here are a few updates for you, in fun bite-sized chunks.
This particularly hiatus might last slightly longer than planned, because I’m currently in dissertation hell and all my brainpower is going into that. Even though I’m reading, I’m finding it a bit hard to concentrate hard enough to write good reviews. However, I plan to try and schedule some to post during exam term, so that my hiatus doesn’t literally last until I graduate (because that would be sad).
At the very least, I’ll be trying to put an Academic Wednesdays post up this week, since that seems to be my life right now. Expect ramblings about the Mabinogion and women in medieval Irish literature.
I now have a Ko-Fi account, so if my reviews have helped you discover new books or pick up ones you wouldn’t otherwise have been interested in, please consider buying me a ‘coffee’.I wrote about this more extensively on my main blog, if you want to know my reasoning and what the money will help me do.
Remember, you can buy books via the Amazon affiliates links at the bottom of reviews to support me at no extra cost to you. You get books and I get a few pennies — win/win. But I’ll also be adding the Ko-Fi button, just in case you feel particularly moved to tip me.
I’m more than halfway through the 2018 Goodreads challenge! I set my goal at 100 books and I’ve read 59, which bodes well. My ‘unofficial’ challenge, however, is the same as always: keep up with Cait / CG Drews (@PaperFury), and she’s currently two books ahead of me — even when I include academic books in the count.
And… I think that’s all the news. When I get things back up and running properly, you’ll know about it. In the meantime, I usually have brief reviews on Goodreads, though they may be less coherent than the ones I post here, so check those out if you’re feeling starved for my opinions!
